Saturday opened up the beginning of the 2014 track season with the annual EIAC Indoor Track Meet hosted by East Central. All conference teams were present except Rushville. This is not a team scored meet, but individual awards are given.
Batesville brought home four first place finishes. Two were by Ginny Westerfeld in the 55 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. Ginny also set new meet records in both of these events. She broke her own record in the 55m dash of 7.83 with a time of 7.56 and in the 200m dash she broke the old time from 2008 of 28.40 with her time of 28.26. Way to go Ginny! Other first place finishes go to Peter Heil in the 400m dash with a time of 57.46 and Mary Poltrack in the 1600m run at 6:11.45.
Several Bulldogs turned in runner up performances and they went to:
