(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Tuesday to mark a new era at Five Points Tire on U.S. 421/Michigan Avenue.

Doug Loyd has turned the keys to the business over to new owners Christy and Dana Smiley and Mark and Mandy Mayhugh – both husband and wife teams.

Roger McCracken started Five Points Tire in 1963.

Loyd was 14-years-old when he started working for McCracken, and has never held a job elsewhere.

After a number of years working at Five Points Tire, Loyd convinced McCracken to sell him the business.

Doug and April Loyd owned Five Points Tire for 21 years.

Last year was Five Points Tire’s 50th year in business. Also in 2023, Loyd starting talking to the Smileys and Mayhughs about retiring and selling them the business.

Five Points Tire is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to Noon.

Starting in July, they’ll be closed the second Saturday of every month.

The phone number is (812) 663-2183.
