Longest Serving Decatur County Prosecutor Passes Away

(Decatur County, IN) – The longest serving Prosecutor in Decatur County history has passed away.

William O. “Bill” Smith died in Michigan last week after experiencing a medical emergency while visiting family.

He served 24 years as Decatur County Prosecutor from 1987 to 2011.

Bill Smith was 78.

His family will host an open house funeral reception at Heritage Hill in Greensburg on Thursday, June 27 from 3-7 p.m., with a remembrance program to follow at 7.
