JoAnn Fox, 89, Greensburg

JoAnn Fox, 89, Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Aspen Place Nursing Home.

Born September 3, 1934, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Robert and Shirley (Haley) Smith.

JoAnn graduated from Greensburg High School in 1953.

She married Charles Fox on March 8, 1958, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 2018.

JoAnn’s love of family, flowers, and baking will be deeply missed.  If you drove by her home, you would see her either tending to her gorgeous flowers, sweeping the front porch or sidewalk, or chatting with a neighbor.  JoAnn was a homemaker and took great pride in having everything in place.  Consider yourself lucky if you ever had a chance to enjoy her angel food cake, apple pie, chocolate cake, and many more wonderful baked goods.  Her face lit up when grandkids and great grandkids would visit.  She enjoyed the phone calls and facetime with them.

JoAnn is survived by two daughters; Pamela (Steve) Pannasch, Crestview FL, Paula (Bruce) Copple, Greensburg IN, son; John (Deanna) Fox, Greensburg IN, 7 grandsons; Stephen (Tracy) Huntington, Decatur AL, Shawn (Lindsay) Huntington, Milton FL, Bradley (Suzanne) Fox, Greensburg IN, Jason Fox, Fishers IN, Phillip (Kim) Pannasch, Lutz FL, Nicholas Pannasch, serving in the US Navy, Ben (Macy) Copple, Knoxville TN, granddaughter; Danielle (Alex) Green, McCordsville IN, and 8 great grandchildren; Veda, Lyla, & Rhys Fox, Avery Green, Andrew & Bryanna Huntington, and Parker & Addilyn Pannasch.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and 4 brothers; Don, Bob, George, and Charles Smith.

JoAnn’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care given to her in the past three months by the caregivers and friends at Aspen Place and Crown Point Assisted Living Place.

Visitation will be held from 8:30 – 10:00 am on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will immediately follow the visitation at 10:00 am on Saturday with Pastor Jon Porter officiating.  Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

JoAnn so loved trekking around Greensburg and seeing the beautiful gardens around town.  One way to honor the memory of JoAnn is to donate to the Give un Take Garden Club and specify community beautification projects.  Donations can also be made to Luke O’Mara Memorial Garden at DCMH or Decatur County Hospice.
