(Batesville, IN) – Hillenbrand President and CEO Kim Ryan talked about purpose during the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Series Lunch and Learn Tuesday afternoon.
Ryan says one of the things business leaders in this community have to consider is people want to feel what they’re doing, has real meaning, and it’s shaping who we are today and will become in the future.
“That’s an important take away for business leaders…how to figure out how to engage with people and help them view their role in our community as truly impactful and really important to who we will be tomorrow,” Ryan said.
She adds, no matter how big or small your business or organization is, having a point of view about what is lacking if you’re not there, provides motivation.
“Not just for you as a business owner but for the associates in your company, whether it’s two, or 10, or 100, or 10,000,” Ryan added. “I think it matters that people understand it’s more than what they get in a paycheck: it’s the impact they’re having on the world around them.”
The Lunch and Learn was held at Romweber Party Place.
