School Board Candidate Filing in Franklin Co. Starts Next Week

(Franklin County, IN) – Franklin County Clerk Neysa Raible says Tuesday, May 21 is the first day prospective school board candidates can file the necessary paperwork.

The deadline to file a petition of nomination with the county election board as a school board candidate for the general election is Thursday, June 20 at Noon. The petition must be accompanied by a Statement of Economic Interest (CAN-12).

The following school board seats will be on the November General Election ballot:

Franklin Country Community School Corporation — 

· District 1 – One member includes Laurel, Metamora, and Posey townships, and the part of Salt Creek in the Franklin County School Corporation)

· District 2 – One member (includes Blooming Grove, Fairfield, and Brookville 4 &5)

· District 3 – One member (includes Brookville 1, 2 & 3, Highland 1, and the part of Butler Township in the Franklin County Community School Cooperation)

· District 4 – One member (includes Highland 2, Springfield & Whitewater 1 & 2)

Union County/College Corner Joint School District (file in Union County) —

· Harrison Township – Bath Township

· Center Township – Bath Township

· Harmony Township – Bath Township

Batesville Community School Corporation  (file in Ripley County) — 

· District 3 – Two members (includes the City of Batesville)
