Janice R. West, 79, of Osgood passed away at 8:55 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Waters of Batesville. She was born in Tucson, Arizona on November 17, 1944, the daughter of Emory and Wilma Coleman Johnston. She was married to Warner “Jack” West on January 19, 1961 and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2009. Survivors include two sons Matt (Stephanie) West of Versailles and Cory Allen West of South Charleston, West Virginia; two daughters Dawn (Walter) Fugate of Dayton, Ohio and Julie Ann Harrington of South Charleston, West Virginia; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Leonard, great-grandson Walter Fugate IV, son-in-law David Harrington, and her sister Brenda Kay Pfieffer. Janice was dedicated to her family and spent her life as a wife and mother. She enjoyed singing, being active in her church, painting ceramics, and in her younger years she and Jack enjoyed bowling. Janice was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville and a former member of the St. John Catholic Church in Osgood. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 11at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Olean with James Dickey officiating. Memorials may be given to the cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
