(Osgood, IN) – CountryMark and Laughery Valley Ag approached Jac-Cen-Del Community Schools with a unique fundraising opportunity last year.
They made an offer to designate one of the gas pumps at CountryMark in Osgood as a Jac-Cen-Del-themed pump from August through December.
For every gallon purchased on that pump, CountryMark and Laughery Valley Ag donated 2.5 cents each to Jac-Cen-Del Schools.
“We’ve wanted to do some sort of fundraiser for a while and thought this could be a great one to try,” stated Keith Moon with Laughery Valley Ag.
After the gallons were tallied, Jac-Cen-Del received a check for almost $8,500.
“I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to expect but I think once word got out, the community really helped push this fundraiser,” said Sam Melton, Jac-Cen-Del Schools Superintendent.
During the fundraiser, a total of 169,763 gallons of gas were pumped on the JCD-themed pump.
The money will be split between the elementary and high school.
“I can’t thank CountryMark and Laughery Valley Ag enough for their generous donation,” said Melton. “This will be put to good use for the students of Jac-Cen-Del.”
