David S. “Dave” “Big Dave” Montgomery, 76, of Greendale passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati. Dave was born on Thursday, August 28, 1947, in Indianapolis; son of Elvis and Marjorie (Bright) Montgomery. Dave married the love of his life, Connie (Mitchell) Montgomery, on June 30, 1973, and she preceded him on June 5, 2017. He worked in welding at Seagram’s, was a member of the Boilermakers Local #105, and a member of the Moores Hill American Legion Post #209. Dave enjoyed going fishing, watching racing, and watching old westerns. Most of all, Dave cherished spending time with his loving family.
Dave will be missed by his son David Mitchell (Bobbie Jo Peak) Montgomery of Greendale; daughters Tammy Montgomery of Greendale, Amy Jo Montgomery of Greendale, and Elizabeth (Ben Wallace) Rhoades of Morning View, Kentucky; grandchildren Taylor Peak, Michel Hogston, Jacob Peak, Peyton Montgomery, and Trinity Hogston; and great-grandchildren Huntley, Myles, and Kingston.
Dave was preceded by his parents Elvis and Marjorie Montgomery, wife Connie Montgomery, and siblings Steve Montgomery, Bill Montgomery, Diana Montgomery, and Mickey Montgomery.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill. A service will follow at 11:00 AM. Military rites will follow the service, provided by the Moores Hill American Legion Post #209. Memorials may be given in honor of Dave to the Moores Hill American Legion Post #209.
