Mr. Robert “Bob” Charles Slover, age 90, of Mt. Sterling, Indiana, entered this life on May 10, 1933 in Passaic, New Jersey to Charles F. and Ella E. (Keener) Slover. He was raised in northern New Jersey and graduated from Reading Senior High School, class of 1951. Bob graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in economics from Penn State University. Bob was inducted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged on November 17, 1967 with the rank of Captain Transportation Corps. Bob was united in marriage on March 24, 1956 to Ana Jane White in Middleton, Pennsylvania. This happy union was blessed with two sons. Bob and Ana shared over 68 years together until his passing. He was a former administrator for Greene Oaks Healthcare Center in Xenia, Ohio for several years. He was also employed in manufacturing management for several companies over the years. His hobbies included muzzleloading, shooting sports, photography, hunting, camping and gardening. He was also a single engine aircraft pilot. Bob was a former member of the Rotary Club, first president of Save The Valley and was past president of Madison Chamber of Commerce. He was a faithful member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Bear Branch, Indiana. He formerly served on the Regatta committee and was a former auditor for Switzerland County. He greatly admired Charles Lindbergh and often spoke about his accomplishments. Bob passed away at 3:05 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ana Jane (White) Slover of Mt. Sterling, IN; his sons, Matthew T. Slover and his wife, Julie of Butler, KY and Addam P. Slover of Vevay, IN; his grandchildren, Caitlin Slover, Daniel Slover and his wife, Haley, Hannah Slover and Isaac Slover; his great-grandchildren, Claire Lou Slover and Sabrina Jo Slover and his brother-in-law, David White of Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles F. Slover and his mother, Ella Elizabeth Slover.
Visitation Gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024, by Pastor Mona Safley, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043.
