Flood Watch in Effect Until Early Friday

(Map: National Weather Service)

(Southeastern IN) – A Flood Watch is in effect until 2 a.m. Friday.

The National Weather Service says flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

Forecasters say extra runoff may result in the flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Heavy rain of one to two inches is likely with locally higher amounts possible this afternoon into tonight.

This rain will fall on a saturated ground which will cause rising water along area creeks and streams and may result in flooding.

The weather service says you should be prepared to take action in the watch area, especially if you live in a flood-prone area.
