(Franklin County, IN) – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Paul H. Rohe Company closed State Road 1 at Butlers Run Bridge in Franklin County on Tuesday (April 9) to begin bridge replacement work.
The closure is located approximately one mile north of State Road 101, and the work is expected to take up to 13 weeks to complete, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route which follows State Road 101 to State Road 44 to State Road 1 in Connersville.
INDOT says additional work will take place along State Road 1 at a later time, and that further information will be provided.
This project is part of a $6.7 million contract awarded to Paul H. Rohe in March 2023. The contract includes four bridge projects within the INDOT Southeast District.
INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling near work zones.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
