Ray G. Ball, age 74, of Cedar Grove, Indiana died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in the Emergency Department at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio.
Born March 4, 1950 in Berea, Kentucky, he was one of six children born to the late Ben F. & Lula M. (Coy) Ball. He worked as a machinist & tool & die maker for Hamilton Tool & Die for many years before his retirement.
In his leisure time he enjoyed softball, bowling, and had bowled on the Thursday night Men’s League for many years. He also had a deep appreciation for nature, enjoyed eagles, and Appaloosa horses.
Survivors include his life partner of 41 years, Betty Gross; his step-children, Margaret (Alfred) Raines, Flint (Kimberly) Gross and Arnold (Rhoda) Gross; eleven step-grandchildren, 13 step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Robertson of Greensburg, Indiana and Shirley Mays of Palm Bay, Florida; two brothers, Johnnie Calvin (Linda) Ball and Chester (Ellen) Ball all of Brookville, Indiana; as well as several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James T. Ball.

Pastor Paul Frederick of First Baptist Church of Laurel will officiate the Funeral Service at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, with burial following in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
