(Batesville, IN) – Construction has begun on the Batesville Primary School Outdoor Learning Complex.
Concrete was poured on the west side of the building while students were on spring break.
The work includes patio spaces with color concrete, and the foundation for the outdoor classroom pergola structure is now in place.
The classroom will be built later this year.
The BPS Outdoor Learning Complex is being spearheaded by the Batesville Community Education Foundation (BCEF), which raised more than $200,000 in donations and grants for the project, including two sizeable awards from Hillenbrand family foundations.
BCEF plans to hold an open house in the fall upon completion of the project.
