Joan Geisler, 94, of Versailles passed away at 6:40 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2024 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville. She was born in Highland Park, Illinois on June 23, 1929, the daughter of George D.M. and Helen Rudolph Daily. She was married to Gayle Geisler on September 14, 1947 and he preceded her in death 16 years earlier on March 2, 2008. Survivors include six grandchildren Tammy (Chris) Linville of Osgood, Amy (Ed) Rodriguez of Versailles, Lisa Baurley of Aurora, Bill (Susan) Arney of Austin, Texas, and Steve (Cassandra) Arney and Rodney (Dorothy) Arney both of Versailles; 9 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughters Lynn Baurley and Melody Arney, and her sons-in-law Charles Baurley and Jim Arney, her brother George “Bo” Daily, and her sister Patsy Ralston. Mrs. Geisler was a 1947 graduate of Central High School at Madison and spent her married life as a full time Mom and homemaker. She and Gayle enjoyed traveling and spending their winters in Bradenton, Florida. They also attended many Lions Club events with the Versailles Lions Club as well as in Florida, but her heart was always home with her family, especially her grandchildren. Joan was a member of the Tyson Methodist Church in Versailles. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Burial will be in the Benham Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Tyson Methodist Church or the Benham Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
