(St. Leon, IN) – East Central Middle School Agriculture teacher McCord Snider is one of eight finalists for the FFA Golden Owl Award.
The statewide award recognizes outstanding agriculture educators and their contributions toward helping the next generation of agricultural leaders.
FFA State Officer Carson Rudd from the Carroll (Flora) Chapter paid Snider a visit at ECMS this week, and presented him with a plaque recognizing him as one of the finalists.
Snider and the other nominees are eligible to be named Indiana Agricultural Educator of the Year along with taking home cash prizes and the Golden Owl Award trophy.
The winner will be announced at the 95th Indiana FFA State Convention at Purdue University in June.
Snider was also named a Golden Owl finalist last year.
In addition, Snider was one of 36 agricultural educators nationwide who received the 2023 National Association of Agricultural Educators Teachers Turn the Key (TTTK) Scholarship Award, presented during the 2023 National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) Convention in Phoenix, Arizona in December.
