(Decatur County, IN) – A Westport man died following a motorcycle wreck late Sunday afternoon.
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Craig Kroger was the lone occupant of the motorcycle, which crashed on the 1300 block of South U.S. 421 around 5:22 p.m.
A witness told deputies it appeared the bike was having mechanical issues and wobbled out of control.
Investigators say the motorcycle went off the southbound side of the road and crashed into a mailbox.
Kroger was taken to Decatur County Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Assisting agencies were Decatur County EMS, the Greensburg Police Department, Decatur County Communications, the Greensburg Fire Department, Statflight 5 and the Decatur County Coroner’s Office.
