Betty E. (Woliung) Hunt, 94, of Lawrenceburg passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Ridgewood Health Campus with her loving family by her side. Betty was born on Monday, March 18, 1929, in New Alsace; daughter of August and Eslona (Howard) Woliung. Betty married the love of her life, Joseph “Joe” Hunt on June 6, 1948, and he preceded her on March 22, 2002. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dillsboro. Betty had her own beautician service and worked in housekeeping for the Dillsboro Manor. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch outside, gardening, and spending time with her family.
Betty will be missed by her son Russell (Shirley) Hunt of Moores Hill; daughters Donna (Terry) Brown of Milan and Sandy (Mike) Worley of Walton, Kentucky; daughter-in-law Kim Hunt of West Chester; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents August and Eslona Woliung; husband Joe Hunt; son Gene Hunt; daughter Brenda White; brother J.R. Woliung; and sister Barbara Disbro.
Family and friends may gather in remembering Betty from 11:00 AM- 12:00 PM, Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Gordon Shinkle officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Betty to the American Cancer Society.
