Karen E. Griffin, age 74 of Sunman, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at her home. Born August 15, 1949, in Milan, Indiana, she is the daughter of Virginia (Nee: Grigsby) and Walter Clark. Karen was an Insurance Agent for Wagner’s Insurance and was a homemaker.
Karen married Harold J. Griffin August 17, 1974. They were married 49 years falling short of their Golden Anniversary this August. She lived at her family home place her entire life. She was a terrific homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. She collected antiques and loved looking for treasures. She enjoyed time at the Milan Legion with her friends and was on the Ladies Auxiliary there.
She loved to tell many camping stories and fishing trips in her earlier years with Harold and their friends.
Karen was an artist and enjoyed painting as a hobby, watching Nascar on Sundays and followed the Bengals.
She is survived by her husband Harold of Sunman; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Samuel Cook of Batesville and son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Donnelle Griffin of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren Eric (Jamie) Gress of Batesville, Michael Bryan of Batesville, Emily (Logan) Gerwe of Ross, Ohio and David (Kelsey) Griffin of Greensburg, Indiana; step-grandchildren Travis (Melissa) Cook, Jeremy (Chassi) Cook and Dylan (Ashley) Cook, all of Batesville; great grandchildren Braxton, Dalton, Pearl, Mack, Gretchen, and Millie and five step-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 30th, from 4 – 7 p.m., at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Milan American Legion or the American Cancer Society. For online condolences go to www.weigelfh.com.
