(Greensburg, IN) – Decatur County native Zach Wirrig is the City of Greensburg’s new Director of Public Projects.
The position has been known as City Engineer but the title is being changed upon Ron May’s retirement, since Wirrig is not a licensed engineer.
Wirrig is a 2007 graduate of South Decatur High School, then attended Purdue University and previously worked in construction.
He has been on the job with the city for the past month, and has worked closely with May to ensure a smooth transition.
May was presented a plaque by Mayor Joshua Marsh at this week’s City Council meeting in appreciation of his years of service (pictured).
His retirement takes effect end of this month.
