(Versailles, IN) – The only laundromat in Versailles was heavily damaged by fire Thursday afternoon.
Crews arrived on the scene and saw flames shooting through the roof of the Washboard Express Laundromat on South Adams Street.
They were able to keep the fire from spreading to other nearby buildings.
However, the laundromat sustained major damage and is likely a total loss.
Fire officials say the blaze started in a dryer.
There were no injuries reported.
Versailles Fire Rescue received assistance from the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department, the Versailles and Sunman police departments, the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office and Ripley County EMS.
