(Brookville, IN) – Franklin County Commissioners this week awarded the emergency medical services contract to the Letts Community Volunteer Fire Department.
The southern Decatur County-based unit will provide service to Franklin County for the next four years.
Letts was the recommended choice of consultants and the EMS Review Committee.
Also submitting bids were Franklin County EMS – which has provided service the county since 1972 – and Heartland Ambulance Service.
Commissioners went along with the recommendations and chose Letts because it submitted the low bid, has paramedics on staff, and has the ability to provide additional ambulances when necessary.
County officials have expressed concerns about Franklin County EMS over availability issues.
