Jamie Robert Adkins, 62, of Greensburg, passed away unexpectedly, in his sleep, on December 13, 2023. He was born on August 11, 1961 in Mansfield, Ohio the son of Robert and Carolyn Collyer Adkins. Jamie was a 1980 graduate of Greensburg High School. He had previously worked at Swifty Gas Station, Delta Faucet for over 20 years, Jerman Place Apartments, and since 2014 he was the maintenance man at Lake Point Apartments along with his nephew John Gosnell. Jamie loved fishing with his grandsons and golfing with his brother and his nephews. He loved finding odd jobs for his grandsons to do. If anyone needed anything, he was always the first person to help. He was a great Dad and Papaw Jamie (P.J.) and a wonderful brother and Uncle Jamie to his nieces and nephews, and he will be missed by so many; even Pickle the family dog, will miss her weekly treats and attention.
Survivors include: Daughter, Jessica L. (Nick) Smith; Grandsons, Caden N. Smith, Reid A. Smith; Siblings: Brenda (Max) Smiley, Diana Blanford, David (Judy) Adkins and Kimberly (Frank) Nieman; Sister in Law, Debra Adkins. He was preceded in death by: His Father; Mother; Brother, Ronnie Adkins; and Brother-in-Law, Roger Blanford.
Funeral services for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 3:00 pm. Visitation for family and friends will follow the funeral from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Pastors Bill and Tammy Leak will be officiating. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to be put in his grandchildren’s college fund.
