Authorities are asking the community for help identifying two men they believe stole $6,500 worth of iPhones from the Aurora Wal-Mart.
Aurora Police Chief Josh Daugherty said the alleged crime occurred in the connections center of the store on Thursday around 2:47 p.m.
“As the electronics associate became occupied with a customer, one male subject crouches down to see an unlocked case,” Daugherty said in an email. “The other male shields the view as he crouches back down and begins selecting several iPhones from the case.”
Police say one suspect placed the phones inside a loaded cart of previously selected merchandise. The men allegedly concealed several phones in their jacket when they exited the store on the grocery side.
The two men drove away in what police say may be a red BMW with Ohio plates, but due to picture quality it is difficult to verify.
“Multiple iPhones were concealed and later stolen. The total financial loss was about $6500.00,” Daugherty indicated.
If you can identify the individuals in the photographs please contact the Aurora Police Department at 812-926-1101 and for Detective McBride or Officer Hailstorm.
