(Franklin County, IN) – Sheriff Pete Cates has released the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office activity report for September 2023.
Deputies responded to 729 calls for service. Among the calls for service investigated were:
- Property Damage Accidents 31
- Personal Injury Accidents 11
- Fatality Accident 1
- Burglary/Theft 9
- Residential/Business Alarms 9
- Domestic Battery/Battery 18
- 911 Hang Up/Accidental Dial 88
- Suspicious Persons/Vehicles 28
- Traffic Stops 137
A total of 33 arrests were made by Sheriff’s deputies on the following charges:
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated 8
- Possession of Marijuana 1
- Possession of Methamphetamine 5
- Battery/Domestic Battery 2
- Residential Entry 1
- Possession of a Controlled Substance 2
- Driving While Suspended 1
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident 1
- Criminal Recklessness 1
- Disorderly Conduct 1
- False Reporting 1
- Warrants 9
There was an average of 44 prisoners housed in the Security Center throughout the month. The maximum capacity of the Security Center is 75 inmates. Deputies drove a total of 27,008 miles. The Transport Officers drove an additional 2,614 miles, for a total of 29,622 miles. Seventeen prisoners were transported to and from the Department of Corrections facilities throughout the States of Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Additionally, Deputies conducted one prisoner transport to a medical facility for conditions that could not be treated by jail doctors.
Sixty-two civil process papers were served.
