Janet Lou Baltus, 86

Janet Lou Baltus, 86, of Greensburg passed away, surrounded by family on November 2, 2023. She was born on February 21, 1937, the daughter of Fred and Lillie Goodpaster. Janet was a 1955 graduate of Greensburg High School. She went on to complete her Nursing degree at Ivy Tech. Janet married Joseph Baltus on December 8, 1957. She worked at Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Heritage House, Union Bank and Trust, and Johnson Wholesale.
Survivors include: Daughter, Rev. Pamela Sue Loyd; Son, Jim (Connie) Baltus; Grandchildren, Shelly (Jodi) Lane, Missy (Michael) Ferrara, Joe (Lisa) Loyd, Carrie Baltus, Adam Baltus, Patrick (Emily) Baltus; Great Grandchildren, Bryna Ferrara, Tyler Ferrara, Darian Davis, Kayla Davis, Micha Morrison, Rose Morrison, Lawson Loyd, Cheyenne Baltus, Laykin Baltus, Braydin Baltus, Jaydin Baltus, Halen Baltus, Hannah Baltus, Malachi Baltus and Machi Baltus; Great Great Grandson, Avyn Huffman; and several Nieces and Nephews. Janet is preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Son, Fredrick Josef Baltus; Twin Sister, Jeanette Sue Blodgett; Sisters, Emma Jane Briggs, Martha Norris, Mary Bell West, Ruby Zapfe, Patty Goodpaster; Brothers, Eugene Goodpaster, Clyde Goodpaster, and Harry Goodpaster.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral at 11:00 am. Pastor Cliff Bunch will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice of Decatur County.
