(Statewide) – U.S. Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) completed his fifth annual 92 County Tour of the state with a visit to Decatur County.
The Senator was in the county for Saturday night’s Decatur County Republican Party Lincoln Day Dinner.
Braun says he promised to visit each of Indiana’s 92 counties every year when he was elected in 2018.
“When Hoosiers sent me from my business to (Washington) D.C., I told them I’d treat constituent service like I treated customer service in my company: my highest priority. Since then, I’ve visited all 92 counties in Indiana every year, hearing straight from Hoosiers what they think about the issues that matter most to them and their families,” Braun said.
Braun will not run for re-election to the Senate but is instead one of several candidates for Indiana Governor in 2024.
Other declared Republican gubernatorial candidates are Indiana Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, former Indiana Secretary of Commerce Brad Chambers, former Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill, the former President of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation Eric Doden, and businesswoman Jaime Reitenour.
The declared Democratic candidates are former Superintendent of Public Instruction Jennifer McCormick and Bob Kern.
The lone declared Libertarian candidate is Donald Rainwater, who also ran for Governor in 2020.
Primary elections will take place on May 7, 2024.
The winner of the Governor’s race will succeed incumbent Republican Eric Holcomb, who is term-limited and cannot run for a consecutive third term in office.
