(Osgood, IN) – The Town of Osgood has received more than $40,000 in grants to finish three improvement projects at Osgood Trails.
An $8,000 grant from the Gilmore & Golda Reynolds Foundation will go towards crack/seal repairs and repaving the trails.
The Ripley County Community Foundation provided $7,000 for a brand-new water bottle filling/drinking station complete with a pet bowl attachment.
But the largest amount came from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation, which kicked in $26,000 towards critical bank erosion and soil repairs created by fluctuating water levels.
There are several more improvements and advancements coming to the trails.
The Town announced last month that it will receive a $400,000 grant from the Indiana Trails program.
Funds will be used to expand Osgood Trails, including the addition of 1.25 miles of paved trails around the south quarry pond.
The goal is for the new trail section to be completed by the end of the summer of 2024.

In addition, town officials say the trails are under camera surveillance for the safety and security of guests.
