(Southeastern IN) – Troopers from the Indiana State Police Versailles Post conducted extra patrols throughout the 10-county district Friday and Saturday evenings of Labor Day weekend and were specifically on the lookout for impaired and dangerous drivers.
Over the two-day period, troopers arrested six drivers for operating while intoxicated; 12 people were cited or arrested for drug violations; two were ticketed for minor consumption/possession of alcohol; one person was arrested for driving while being a habitual traffic violator, and another person was cited for driving while suspended.
Troopers conducted a total of 256 traffic stops over the two-day period, and issued 77 citations and 235 warnings.
The patrols were conducted in Ripley, Franklin, Decatur, Dearborn, Bartholomew, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, and Switzerland counties, which make up the Versailles Post district.
