BMS Volleyball splits with Franklin County

The Batesville Middle School 7th grade Volleyball Team lost to Franklin County 25-21, 22-25, and 9-15.

Miki Gutzwilller & Breauna Broshears each earned a kill for the Bulldogs.

Maci Smith led the team from the service line with 6 service points.

Kiersten Luers had 5 points, while Gutzwiller chipped in with 3 points.

The BMS 8th Grade Volleyball Team’s record improved to 3-1 on the season with a 25-10; 25-19 win over Franklin County.

Molly Gesell was 10 for 11 serving, earning 8 points, while Abby Miller connected on all 10 of her serves, scoring 7 points including 4 aces.

Katie Wilhelm led the team in aces with 5 while also scoring 7 points.

Madi Dierckman and Jersey Trenkamp led the front-line attack with 4 and 3 kills respectively.

Maggie Jelinek and Gesell each added 2 kills at the net.

Jolene Dirkhising, Leah Meyer, and Raegan Hixson each had a good spike in the winning effort.

Team setters Wilhelm and Dierckman led the team in assists, while Maggie Peters also contributed some good sets for the Lady Bulldogs.

Payton Yorn, Marley Denning, Abby Miller, and Isabel Meyer all had solid nights in the serve reception.

The teams will face Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday.
