The Greensburg girls’ soccer team fell to 0-2 on the season after a rainy 3-0 loss at the hands of Rising Sun in the Pirates’ home opener Tuesday night.
Rising Sun found the net early, striking first in the second minute of the game.
The Shiners would find the net twice more during the first half.
The 3-0 lead would hold in the second half, with Pirates’ goalkeeper Madeline Shrader stopping all 12 Shriners shots after the break.
The Pirates return to action Saturday, Aug. 19 at home against Union County as part of a doubleheader with the boys’ team. The girls play at 10 a.m. The boys play at noon.
