It’s be fair to say that the Reds had an off night on Tuesday, as they fell to the Chicago Cubs 20-9 in game 2 of their 4 game road series.
The Cubs hit a staggering 7 home runs in the contest, 2 of them came from Dansby Swanson.
In the first four innings, Cincinnati scored a total of two runs. The runs came on a wild pitch and a throwing error.

The closest the score got was 13-5 in the top of the 6th when Tyler Stephenson hit a 2-run home run.
The Cubs lead grew to as many as 15 runs. However, Cincinnati scored 4 runs in the top of the 9th to cut into the deficit a little before Chicago earned the 20-9 win.
Matt McClain had a good outing at the plate for the Reds, batting 3-5 with a double and 2 RBI.
With Milwaukee’s 6-4 win over the Washington Nationals Tuesday night, Cincinnati’s lead in the NL Central shrinks to just half a game.
