Steve Green of Greensburg, Indiana, passed away the evening of July 20, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born April 21, 1952, to Louis Green and Alverta Klosterkemper. Steve “Nine Fingers” was a man of many lives and hobbies. He retired as a carpenter and millwright, but in his spare time he enjoyed everything from restoring classic cars, to taking long scenic rides in his prized 1967 Corvette, to testing his luck at the casinos or claw machines. Steve was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing locally and in tournaments across the country. He was a member of the American Legion, The Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and The Shelbyville Branch of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Wherever Steve moves to after this life, we hope it is full of bikini models, cool cars, Mountain Dew, and perfectly done prime rib. We hope his favorite shows are on repeat and he hits the jackpot on every slot machine he plays. The friends and family who knew Steve could use a thousand words to describe who he was: kind, generous, easy going, funny, intelligent… but one word describes him best: missed.
Steve will be remembered by his family; his son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Jennifer; his grandchildren, Danielle and Kylie; his brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Mary; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Larry. He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Gator.
Steve wished to leave this world in a blaze of glory and chose to be cremated. Condolences for the family can be made online at www.popfuneralhome.com. He is missed, but not forgotten; be happy to have known him and enjoy your next slice of pizza in his memory.
