The Cincinnati Reds ended their 6-game losing streak on Wednesday night, beating the San Francisco Giants in game 3 of the series 3-2.
Will Benson provided all the run support the Reds needed with his 3-run home run in the bottom of the 3rd to give Cincinnati a 3-0 advantage.
San Francisco would make it a one-run game, scoring one run in both the 5th and the 7th innings.
Reds Closer Alexis Diaz closed things out in the 9th, striking out 2 of three batters to earn his 27th save and snap the Red’s 6-game losing streak.
Graham Ashcraft earned the win on the mound for Cincinnati, striking out 3 and walking two while allowing 2 runs in 6 innings of work.
