Greensburg Fire Department holds Recognition Ceremony

(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg Fire Department (GFD) held its annual Recognition Ceremony this week at City Hall, and several team members were honored for achievements in the past year.

Among the honors, Donnie Nicholson was named Firefighter of the Year.

The Life Saver Award was presented to Captain Troy Harmon, and firefighters Jock Ralston, Nick Gauck, and Wade Farr for their actions in saving a man’s life during a cardiac arrest event.

Two members were recognized for becoming FAA Part 107 Drone Pilots:

  • Probationary Firefighter Trent Campbell
  • Firefighter Tyler Brown

Two firefighters received their certificate of retirement:

  • Firefighter Jock Ralston (20 years)
  • Firefighter Chris Springmeyer (26 1/2 years)

Firefighter Josh Hengesbach was promoted from Probationary Firefighter to Firefighter First-Class.

Four new probationary firefighters were welcomed to the GFD team:

  • Trent Campbell
  • Caleb Stevens
  • Walker Gabbard
  • John Hammersmith
