Betty Lou Ruble, 93, of Greensburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 11, 2023 in the home that she resided in since 1969. She was born on January 8, 1930 in a farmhouse on the corner of I74 and SR3 in Greensburg Indiana. She was the daughter of James and Cora (Black) Colson.
She is survived in death by her daughters, Marilyn (Everett) Barber and Brenda (Fran) Riehle; son, Lon (Andrea) Ruble; brother, Earl Colson; 19 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren and two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John “Who” Ruble, Jr.; grandson, Arthur Alexander Ruble; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Betty’s faith and family was the center of her life. She had an exceptionally kind and generous heart, and thinking of others was a predominant part of her character. She graduated from high school in 1950 from John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked at Printpack in Greensburg from 1964 until she retired in 1992. Betty was a member of the Bethel Apostolic Church in Greensburg. She enjoyed playing dominoes, browsing at flea markets, and making crazy quilts.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the Funeral at 11:00 am. Pastor Todd Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Bethel Apostolic Church in Greensburg, Indiana, or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
