Sunday, May 24th

  • Gibson Cemetery, Bright
    • 12:15 PM Ceremony begins with  guest speaker Corporal Grant Streder of the Young Marines. In case of rain, will be held in Providence Presbyterian Church next to cemetery. 
  • Historic Metamora Memorial Day Celebration
    • 2:00 – 3:30 PM Along the canal by the car bridge. 
    • This event has been happening every year since the Civil War.
    • There will be speeches, song and flowers provided to throw in the canal in remembrance of all who gave their life for us.

Monday, May 25th

  • The Sunman American Legion Post 337 will have Memorial Day Services at the following cemeteries:

  • Memorial Day Services for Oldenburg, Morris and Batesville:
    • 8:00 AM Holy Family Cemetery (Oldenburg)
    • 8:30 AM St. Anthony Cemetery (Morris)
    • 9:00 AM St. Mark’s Cemetery (Batesville)
    • 9:30 AM St. John’s Cemetery (Batesville)
    • 10:00 AM St. Louis/Methodist Cemeteries (Batesville)
    • 11:00 AM Ceremony at Liberty Park (Batesville)
    • Six cemetery visits are followed by a program at Liberty Park Pavilion, Batesville.
    • Open House at VFW Post #3183 after program.
  • Annual Brookville American Legion Memorial Day Parade
    • Lineup starts on John Street at 8:30 AM.
    • Parade will start at 9:00 AM. 
    • Route: John St to 10th St, Main St, 6th St, and on to the final ceremony at Maple Grove Cemetery. The guest speaker is Dave Parker. Guy Kern will play bagpipes. 
    • Public is invited to the Legion for refreshments.
  • American Legion Post # 235, Milan
    • 10:00 AM Participants meet at Legion Post
    • 10:30 AM Pleasant Hill 
    • 10:45 AM Stringtown
    • 11:00 AM New Cravens
    • 11:30 AM Milan Flag (SR 101 & Carr St.)
    • 11:45 AM Col. Canfield (Buddy) Boone Memorial at Darren Baker Park 
    • 12:00 PM Old Milan 
    • 12:15 PM Old German Lutheran
    • 12:30 PM Prattsburg
    • 12:45 PM St. Paul’s (Stumpke’s Corner)
    • 1:00 PM Pilgram Home Church (Franklin Cemetery)

    • Following the services, participants will return to the Legion to honor the deceased. 
  • South Park Cemetery, Greensburg
    • 10:00 AM Memorial Day Ceremony. Weather permitting. John Pratt is the guest speaker.
    • Following the ceremony, lunch will be served at American Legion Post #129 in Greensburg starting at 11:30am.
  • Moscow Road Bridge (Over I-74), Greensburg
    • Noon – 1 PM: Public is invited to wave a flag over I-74 on the Moscow Road Bridge.
