Sarah Swain didn’t allow a single run as North Decatur defeated South Decatur 10-0 in 5 innings on Tuesday.
The Chargers got things moving in the first inning, scoring three runs.
North Decatur would notch three more runs in the second inning. Their offense in the inning came from a triple by Swain and a single by Kendall Hostkoette.
A bright spot for South Decatur was a single by Molly Eden in the first inning.
The Chargers would score four more runs over the final 3 innings to ultimately end the game.
Swain earned the victory on the rubber for the Chargers. The southpaw surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
Daisy Martin took the loss for South Decatur. The hurler lasted four and one-third innings, allowing nine hits and ten runs while striking out two.
