(Greensburg, IN) – The City of Greensburg broke ground Saturday morning on the $20 Million Municipal Complex.
Plans call for a new fire station and street department headquarters to be built on 10 acres on a 20-acre parcel at the corner of Barachel and Broadway.
The new firehouse will replace Fire Station One on Ireland Street, which was been in service since 1975 and is considered obsolete.
The street department will move out of its current building on Monfort Street, which was built in 1969 and is also considered cramped and out-of-date for current purposes.
Completion of both facilities is expected around this time next year, provided there are no weather delays or construction issues.
