Two arrests made in Greensburg gas station robbery

(Greensburg, IN) – A pair from Indianapolis is behind bars following an armed robbery at a Greensburg gas station earlier this month.

Greensburg Police say the robbery took place around 1:30 am on May 4 at the Sunoco station on Michigan Avenue when a woman entered the store and convinced the clerk to follow her outside.

That’s when a man went behind the counter and began grabbing lottery tickets from the display case.

Police say when confronted by the clerk, a struggle took place.

Store customers jumped in to help while a call was being made to 9-1-1.

Investigators say a firearm was displayed during the confrontation and the suspects fled the scene.

As a result of the investigation, Greensburg Police detectives were able to identify the suspects and arrested 26-year-old Tyler Davis in Hamilton County, Indiana last Monday.

19-year-old Rhylee Haxby was rounded up in Greensburg the next day.

Davis was charged with Robbery, Theft, Battery, and a Firearms Violation, while Haxby was booked on Robbery and Theft charges.

Greensburg Police say there are no additional threats to the community stemming from the incident.

GPD is thanking community members for their response and cooperation with law enforcement.

The department also expressed thanks to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Decatur County Communications, Indiana State Excise Police, and the State Lottery Commission of Indiana for their assistance with the investigation.
