Schebler drives in five as Batesville varsity baseball earns win over Rushville

Charlie Schebler showed timely hitting on Monday, driving in five on two hits to lead Batesville past Rushville 11-3 on Monday. Schebler drove in runs on a double in the first, a groundout in the fourth, and a double in the fifth.

The Bulldogs secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught by Batesville was led by Carter Bohman, Alex Baumer, Schebler, and Sam Weigel, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Schebler got the start on the mound for the Bulldogs, allowing four hits and two runs over five innings while striking out seven.

Bryce Berkemeier started the game for the Lions. The righthander allowed four hits and five runs over three and a third innings, striking out two. Jack Barnes threw three and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

Keegan Bowles led Rushville at the plate with two hits in three at bats.
