Despite allowing five runs in the sixth inning, Batesville freshman baseball defeated East Central 10-6 on Thursday.
The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Batesville collected nine hits, and East Central had seventeen.
The Bulldogs got things started in the first inning. Damien Krekeler singled, scoring one run. They would go on to score 7 runs in the fifth inning. Tyler Hoff, Luke Miller, Brad Tekulve, Caleb Mohr, Ethan Schneider, and Mason Jones each had RBI in the frame.
Cayden Drake was on the mound for Batesville. The righty went five innings, allowing one run on seven hits, striking out five, and walking zero.
