On Tuesday, the Cincinnati Reds won despite scoring just 2 runs. On Wednesday, they weren’t as fortunate, as they fell 7-1 in the series final to the San Diego Padres.
The lone Reds run came in the top of the sixth when Spencer Steer hit a solo home run to make it 4-1 game. However, the Padres would answer with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning when three runs scored on a Juan Soto double to extend their lead to 7-1.
Luis Cessa took the loss on the mound for Cincinnati, giving up 3 earned runs in just 3 and 1/3 innings of work.
The Reds are off today. They will return to action tomorrow evening when they begin a 3-game home series with the Chicago White Sox. Coverage on 103.9 WRBI will begin at 6:10, with the first pitch at 6:40.
