(Sunman, IN) – The Town of Sunman will receive $51,953 from an Alliance of Indiana Rural Water program.
The money will be used to pay an employee’s salary, training, books, and tuition for the agency’s wastewater operations specialist apprenticeship program.
Sunman has received the maximum amount of $91,953 for the initiative.
The funding comes from the Indiana Finance Authority, which is trying to get more licensed water and wastewater operators in the state.
More than 50% of licensed operators around Indiana and throughout the country are expected to retire in the next five years.
