(Brookville, IN) – The Stayin’ Alive Coalition is sponsoring a community event for parents on Monday, April 24 at 6 pm in Franklin County High School’s Lew Wallace Auditorium featuring a nationally-renowned speaker on substance use prevention, mental health, and resilience.
Stephen Hill is the founder of Speak Sobriety, a young man in recovery, a best-selling author, a recovery coach, and an attorney.
Organizers of the event say he has an inspiring comeback story, and this presents an opportunity for parents to have a meaningful conversation with their children about the messages and lessons from Hill’s presentation.
Through knowledge gained from his own personal and professional experience, Hill shows parents how to build resilient kids to make healthy choices and overcome adversity.
He will also speak with Franklin County High School students during Monday’s school day.
While parents attend the evening presentation, 7th to 12th-grade students are encouraged to take part in the evening Professional Development Workshop series offered by Purdue Extension.
Students may RSVP by emailing [email protected] or by completing the form at https://forms.gle/MmwbPtPGJGR1y3TK7.
Both Monday evening events begin at 6 and are free.
