Franklin County JV Softball dominant in 21-1 win over North Decatur

North Decatur JV softball watched the game slip away early as Franklin County cruised to a 21-1 victory on Monday.

In the first inning, Franklin County scored on an error, a stolen base by Olivia Bennett, a single by Kendal Cain, and a home run by Tori Wuestefeld.

The Chargers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Franklin County, giving up 21 runs.

The Wildcats got things moving in the first inning. An error scored one run for Franklin County.

The Wildcats scored nine runs in the fourth inning. Bennett, Cydney Morehead, Jillian Harris, Addyson Bischoff, Cain, and Hope Gardner powered the big inning for Franklin County.

Harris was credited with the victory for Franklin County. The fireballer surrendered one run on one hit over five innings, striking out eight.

Elizabeth Meister took the loss for North Decatur. The righty allowed 19 hits and 14 runs over three and two-thirds innings.

Jo Whitaker led the Chargers with one hit in three at-bats.

Franklin County racked up 20 hits. Wuestefeld, Harris, Cain, Madison Perleburg, Bella Lee, Gardner, and Bischoff each managed multiple hits for Franklin County. Franklin County didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kailey Edmundson had the most chances in the field with eight.
