(Southeastern/East Central, IN) – An aerial tree trimming project is scheduled to start next week in our region.
Indiana Michigan Power has hired Aerial Solutions, Inc. to trim near high-voltage transmission lines starting Monday, April 10 in Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, and Ripley counties, plus Fayette, Rush, Shelby, Union, Wayne, Hancock, Henry, Randolph, and Delaware counties.
The electric power company says the work is routine maintenance to remove overhanging branches that can interfere with energy delivery.
The contractor will use a helicopter-based saw, which is considered faster and reaches off-road areas more easily than traditional trimming methods.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to take three weeks to complete.
