(Switzerland County, IN) — A Rising Sun man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run collision last month on State Road 56 in Switzerland County.
19-year-old John Hayes was arrested by Switzerland County Sheriff’s deputies on charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Obstruction of Justice (both Level 6 felonies).
He was taken to the Switzerland County Jail and held on a $600 cash bond, and was released after his bail was posted.
An unidentified man riding a bicycle on State Road 56 was struck by a pickup truck allegedly driven by Hayes on March 12 near the Switzerland /Ohio County line.
The victim is still recovering from his injuries.
