Naomi Grace Peaslee, 92, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Versailles passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Chestnut Hill Hospice Center in Columbus. She was born near Benham on April 10, 1930, the daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Benefiel Buchanan. She was married to Rev. Clayton Peaslee on July 5, 1949 and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1988. Survivors include one son Timothy (Lisa) Peaslee of Ashland, Ohio; three daughters Wilma Ann (Bill) Wood of Terrebonne, Oregon, Judith (Patrick) Boyd of Columbia, South Carolina, and Tena (George) Vickroy of Granville, Ohio; her daughter-in-law Peggy Peaslee of Huntsville, Alabama; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; one sister Martha Browning of Versailles. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Ronald, and her brothers James, Emmett, Kenneth, and Wilkie Buchanan. Mrs. Peaslee was a 1948 graduate of Cross Plains High School. She was a homemaker and had assisted her sister at Browning’s Campground near Versailles. Her husband had pastored churches in Prospect and Alexandria, Ohio and was manager of the Judson Hills Camp in Loudenville, Ohio when he passed away. Upon his death, Naomi returned to Versailles. She enjoyed her flowers, painting, sewing and cooking. Naomi was a member of the OES at Versailles and also a member of the Tanglewood Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 20 at 12pm at the Tanglewood Baptist Church with Rev. Becky Pohle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will also be on Monday at the church beginning at 11am. Memorials may be given to the Tanglewood Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
