Batesville, IN — Batesville City Council continued discussion on the food truck ordinance Monday night
Several items came up in the First Reading of the ordinance not previously addressed, such as how the new rules would affect non-profits.
Council president John Irrgang says those items need to be hammered out before they reach a final resolution.
Meantime, councilman Tracy Rohlfing expressed concerns about the ordinance making it harder for non-profits setting up at festivals and similar events to be in compliance.
Rohlfing says he’s in favor of having a food truck ordinance but against it over-regulating those organizations.
Council is expected to revisit the issue and hold a Second Reading next month.
